July scripture–what do you think?

This month’s scripture is Jeremiah 29:11-13:

“I will bless you with a future filled with hope–a future of success, not of suffering. You will turn back to me and ask for help, and I will answer your prayers. You will worship me with all your heart, and I will be with you…..”  (CEV)

Sometimes people refer to this passage as “proof” that God has a specific and detailed plan for their lives. But it’s important to remember God is speaking to his people as a whole and promising them help and comfort during their time of exile. The Bible is the story of God’s covenant relationship with his people and this passage reminds them–and us–of His faithfulness.

What does this passage say to you? What do you learn from it? How does it change you?
